Hee hee... Our girls STILL get the "no white below the waist" lecture during the chapter meeting right before and the one right after Labor Day! And it's not just the older alums who go by it... the girls in the house police each other! I haven't seen a sorority woman here wearing white (dress) shoes after labor day... I think EVER!
Since it is still very hot here after Labor Day, most people have relaxed on the "no open toed shoes after labor day" rule. I don't follow that one, myself. I will wear sandals until it cools off, but I would die before wearing white sandals before Easter or after Labor Day. It's just tacky.
