I bought it yesterday and I am really liking it. It has the sounds of being autobiographical since the mother has asthma and this is the same disease that killed Terry McMillan's mother plus it has some of the same vibes/family relationships as Soul Food. It might also remind you of MAMA, her first book as well. I am half way through it right now.
