Although I have never addressed another member of a sorority as "Soror", I don't believe it is ignorant. Afterall, it is simply the greek word for "sister". As members of the greek community, we are in a sense sisters and brothers regardless of affiliation in the spirit of greekdom. Unless there is some written rule that it shouldn't be done, then I say be gracious about it. If it offends you, then let the person know that you have never heard of such and explain it took you by surprise. There is no need to ridicule.
