i think purduegirly has a great point. go to community college to get back into the swing of things and to get your grades up. it will probably be much easier to get back into the academic swing of things at ball state after you've done it without the social scene. once you have it down, you can add the social part back in.
the other big thing is getting those grades up so you can get back in.

ps - don't be afraid to do something b/c there is a chance you'll fail. otherwise, we wouldn't even be living life cuz Lord knows it's easy to fail so many things.
