First off, to you AST girls...I love AST! I went through recruitment my freshman year and was initiated into AOII, then transferred to a school without AOII the next year. AST ended up approaching me to help them with rush and made me a social member. I loved those girls!

Second...here's my story: I was dead set on this one house from day one of rush. I loved every second of rush because I love meeting and talking to people, but I know that I put off a vibe in all of the other houses that I didn't want them. So I spent all week just knowing that I was going to end up in this one house. Pref rolled around and I just wanted to skip AOII's pref because I had already decided on the other sorority (which shall remain nameless). However, I went to pref at AOII first that day and was rushed by the same sister who had rushed me the day before. We had kinda clicked the day before, but nothing that was too big of a deal. But pref did it for me! Not only was AOII's pref absolutely gorgeous and touching, but the things the girl rushing me said to me were just perfect! She made me feel so special and so welcome in AOII. She showered me with compliments and even admitted she knew I wanted the other house. However, she had faith that I would make the right choice and she spent the time and effort on me, even knowing I wanted the other house.
Well, I left AOII feeling confused because I felt so connected to the sisters at pref. I went to the other house and realized their pref didn't seem like anything special to me (I'm sure it was special, as all chapters pref is special), it just didn't give me that feeling. We all know that feeling we get when we're in the right place!
Well, needless to say, I was one of the first PNM's back to the student union to fill out my card. And I was the last PNM to turn in my card. I talked to my rho chi and told her about my confusion, that I had loved this one house all week and already had friends there, but that AOII had really touched me at pref. I was just scared to change my mind there on that last day. Well, I ended up putting AOII first on my card and that's who I got! Turns out my rho chi was an AOII too and I had made it extremely hard for her to be impartial! I still ended up being friends with lots of girls in the other sorority, but AOII was the place for me. And the girl who rushed me on pref day who made me realize AOII was my home...well, she ended up being my big sister! Things have a way of working themselves out during rush. Hope all the PNMs realize that and go into rush with an open mind and no worries!
*Clapping* Great story!!! I love reading things like this, it shows how well things really do work out even when yo udon't expect them to. Kudos to you for making the right choice!
