Basically, the "marketing" jobs I've seen are one of two - telemarketing or door-to-door sales.
Companies will hire these marketing companies out, basically to do the grunt work for them. Many times you'll be working on commission, which won't be much.
Be wary of the companies - as usual, at interviews, ask questions and find out just what you're getting into.
