As a marketing major, I also have noticed a lot of these ads. From my experience, the ones that are listed under "marketing and sales" are generally more sales type positions.

I interviewed with a company that sounded great on paper - the ad made it sound like the perfect first step in the marketing and advertising field. First interview, things still seem cool (or perhaps I was being particularly dense). Went back for a second "working" interview - this turned out to be a day following an "associate" while he went door to door selling coupons. That was the job I applied for - door to door sales. Nothing in the ad indicated this, and even in the initial interview it wasn't mentioned.

Some of those ads will defintely be worth checking out. However, some are completely misleading, and if it's one that you see often, be a bit wary!!!

This happened to my friend. She bought a new suit for the interview only to end up going door-to-door in this redneck town about an hour away from Orlando. To top it off, it was pouring the whole day and she had no way of getting home.
The company was JTI Advertising so stay away from them!
