At one wedding I went to, they did a cute twist on this . . . instead of the glass clinking, if you wanted the couple to kiss you had to stand up and sing a verse of a song with "love" in the title (no song repeats allowed). Needless to say, it injected some humor into the dinner, and it definitely cut down on the number of people demanding the bride and groom to kiss -- not only did you have to think of a song with "love" in the title, but you had to be willing to sing it in front of a couple hundred people.
