EZPass is also honored on the Mass Pike.
A few years back, whoever runs the Mass Pike decided to introduce "FastLane" I think they called it. Trouble is, they did it in cooperation with a bank. Your choices were: open an account with that bank and they would debit your checking account (and they charged
steep account fees); or
buy a transponder (for like $50!) and either give them your credit card # for automatic debit or write checks as needed to replenish your account. No way was I doing either, so I was FastLane-less.
A couple of years after that, I spotted a sign at a toll booth on the Mass Pike that said "EZPass Accepted". So I got me an EZPass.
