What I've learned from GC is that everyone's greek experience is unique, whether it's the type of rush you went through, the rules you have to abide by at your school, the unity of your chapter/greek system, whatever...there is something about your experience that sometimes cannot be explained, however 99.5% of Greeks share that same indescribable passion for their organization that you do.
I've also learned that not everyone can be the best, but there is always room for improvement whether you are the best at your school, in your entire GLO, or the world, there is always someone out there that is kicking the crap out of you in some aspect of your Greek experience.
I've also learned/had idea validated, that - despite what some people will say - no one was ever born to become a member of a certain organization, and there is no one - again despite what a couple of people might say - that would be a member of their organization no matter what chapter they would have tried to rush. Your chapter was great for you do the special set of circumstances and experiences that encompassed your rush.
Finally, I've learned that Greek Life is about the people more than anything else, but also that ideas and ideals can do more to make people connect than anything else in the world. Sharing something that is incredibly important to you with someone who cares just as much as you do yet you've never met before is an incredible gift that being Greek gives us.
