My mother went to nursing school after high school and earned her RN at 20. A few years later when I was a newborn she returned to college. When she was a college student she gave birth to both of my sisters. She missed her final semester of final exams because my youngest sister was due. Her professors let her write papers instead. At 30 she completed her college degree. She returned to work full time until my father passed away when she was 33. She was a stay at home mother for several years since we were so young. She also took care of her elderly parents during those years since she was their only child. At 38 she decided that she wanted to change her life and that education was the best way to do that. She went to law school locally and made the dean's list as she raised my sisters and me. When she was 41, she graduated from law school. She continued to be a stay at home mother until she felt that we were ready for her to be out of the house. She began her career at a law firm in Manhattan where she eventually became the first woman partner. She is an inspiration to all who know her.
