I think everyone is taking UMGirl's comment WAY too literally...
She's pointing out that fraternities have big open parties for the whole campus, and many of the people who attend them turn around and bash Greeks. Lots of anti's consider sororities and fraternities as "in it together." When talking to an asshole, it really doesn't behoove you to get into deep semantics as to who paid for what.
