I'm not particularly fond of suburbs. I live in one now, but it borders Chicago and is one of only two suburbs in this area in which I'd ever want to live.
Should I ever have a child (eeek) I would probably want to raise him/her either in a city or in a smallish town that is it's own town and not a suburb, but that isn't too boonies. I'd love to find some time of co-housing situation in the mountains. That would be awesome.
