JAM,

I can't think of a plant that fits that description unfortunately. Stray cats are a huge problem, they are wiping out colonies of birds left and right and this problem has caused a slight rift among bird veterinarians-who want to get rid of free roaming/stray cats and shelter veterinarians-who want to capture stray cats neuter them and then let them out again to roam and this will lead to killing more birds. Even some rodent and rabbit species are suffering. I wish I had an easy answer but even the experts are still out on this one. Maybe you can put a collar with a bell on him (if you can catch/touch him). I love cats but I also love birds-it is a difficult situation. Many people don't think about humans also causing the extinction of bird species (and thousands of other species of animals/insects/fish/plants) due to destruction of their normal habitat so cats aren't the only guilty ones. There are some people I wish I could haul off to a shelter .

I know it is hard when the children grow up and go off to school-my mother still has a hard time adjusting and I have been out of the house since I was 18. I see her every month though as she is only 1.5 hrs away. I also talk to her almost everyday-I still need my mommy .
