The last plane ride I was on, I was reading the 4th Harry Potter book.

Whether or not you like the HP series... read something long! and light. It can be really hard to concentrate on reading when the stewardesses are constantly going by, people are talking, there is turbulence, etc.

For a flight as long as yours, I'd suggest taking a book and also a magazine or something with short reading/pictures. It'll give you the necessary breaks from just staring down and reading.
