Rainbow flag just means that it is gay friendly (i.e. gay people know that their patronage are welcome), not necessarily OWNED by gay people [although it COULD be and oftentimes is]. I know a straight guy who is married (to a woman, that is) with kids, and they fly the Canada flag at their house and a rainbow flag.
This is because he is an art dealer (runs the biz from his home) and has lots of gays customers, so he wants to show that his is a gay-friendly business. Pink triangle, ditto. They live out in the country, where the nearest neighbour is 2 miles away and of course, the neighbours don't even know what the flag means...they just think "Oh, look at those pretty colours"....LOL
