I'm sorry but most any pop/rap star can hardly be called brilliant because 1) They usually don't write even the lyrics for their songs 2) They have little to no musical training and 3) Most are "created" by some major label to make $$$$. Occasionally there are shining stars (Norah Jones, recently. Even if you hate her, at least she writes her own songs!!) but for the most part things sound more and more alike. That's not to say that some singers can't be "enjoyable" but from a musical standpoint, they kind of suck. I agree w/ what everyone on this thread has said thus far, the exception being (of course) the person who started this thread.
