You are correct; today is the day he was assasinated. My point for mentioning it is how it happened, and by whom. It's more than a coincidence that his death came at the hands of black men; and for what? Selling out our own for money MUST STOP. As real and valuable as Malcom was to us, I'm not surprised that many of us haven't learned the lessons of his death-let alone those lessons from his life.
