i go to Elon, in NC, and there aren't too many rumors and whatnot....but i've heard a few
~there is an all girls dorm, Carolina Hall, and supposedly the singer James Taylor wrote the song "Carolina in my mind" about the dorm because that's where his gf lived (this one isn't true, but i like it bc i like that song!)
~the oldest building on campus is an all-girls dorm called West Hall. Apparently it is haunted by a ghost....I didn't live there so I don't know, but people swear that they hear stuff
~yet *another* all girls dorm story, ha: North Hall, this crappy one story dorm by the stadium, used to be a storage facility during WWII for weapons....or something....they actually just tore down North last year bc it had rats and was deemed "unlivable"
~there is a fountain in the middle of campus, which is a popular gathering spot for students; if you are caught swimming in it or doing stuff to it, you get fined $500 (don't know if this is true but i have DEFINITELY seen people in there)
~in the basement of the science building, McMichael, there is a morgue. i remember they told me this on my tour of Elon and i was kinda freaked out. the anatomy classes have to go down there but no one else knows how to get there!
