Fourteen out of the 43 Presidents of the United States were Freemasons.
Ahem... I am a baptized (but not a practicing) Roman Catholic and a Freemason. Masonry requires a belief in a Supreme Being (God, Allah, Jesus etc.); atheists may not become Masons. It is not a religion and does not dictate how its members should worship.
Roman Catholics may join, but may no longer receive Holy Communion and may run the risk of excommunication. Though the Roman Catholics do have the Knights of Columbus...
