I wish I could say that my big diamond sister and I were close, but we're not. Since she is 2 years ahead of me and has a "full time" boyfriend, it's hard for us to get to spend time together. The only time we really hung out was the six weeks before initiation and we had a great time. I wish we could've became really close, but I'm going to make sure that I spend as much time as I possibly can with my little diamond sis to make sure she feels comfortable in the sorority. It's really pathetic, I already have all of my diamond sister gifts bought for her for next semester!! I'm soooo excited to be a big sis!
We reveal diamond sisters during our fall retreat which is like 2 weeks after bid day.... on the last day of retreat, all the deltas show up and the alphas put together a funny skit to show them. Then the alphas stand in a big circle and the deltas stand behind them, and each of the deltas have made a candle for their diamond sis, and we sing Pass it On and the big diamond sister walks around the circle and hands her candle to her little diamond sis. It was great. Then we do "bonding" activities with them for the rest of the day.
Prides are actually a HUGE thing at our chapter. We really try and emphasize them for the sake of the alphas so they can get to know alot of the older girls as well as the ones in their class. We go to alot of movies, picnics in the park, the zoo to see the lion that we adopted

, pick up trash on our part of the adopt a highway, or even study dates at the library (like any studying gets done...yea right). At the end of every couple months a prize is given to the most active pride, and then we join a new pride for the next couple months.
