Since we are talking about groundhogs (gh), I have a few questions:

1) Do they put the gh in the ground and then wait for him to come out? Or is he down there hibernating or what? If they don't put him in the ground, how do they know he'll come out?

2) And are we watching to see if IT sees it's shadow, or if WE see it's shadow?

3) If it's overcast on 2/2, isn't it a waste of time?

4) Exactly what do gh's do? Like beavers hook us up and build dams. What do groundhogs do? Chuck wood? And what the hell is chucking wood, anyway?

5) Does anyone know how this crazy tradition came about? What idiot woke up on 2/2 and said to himself (b/c you know it had to be a man), "I bet if Grover Groundhog sees his shadow today, blah, blah, etc."??

I guess that's all. I'm interested in the answers. For real, I am.
