I didn't have a freshman roommate, so I'll talk about my first two roommates.
The first one wasn't really a roommate, we slept in different rooms but shared a phone line. The phone was in my room, and my roomie thought that meant she could just waltz in and out whenever she wanted to use the phone. This was always embarrassing when I had visitors over! Once, she got locked out of her room, and she pulled me out of the shower to get my key to open her room (it was the same cut of key for our doors) AND HER FATHER WAS THERE!!! Thanks but no, I'm not fond of old men seeing me in nothing but a towel!
My next roommate, however, was AMAZING. I just ended my second year of school, so this was just this past semester. She was a member of Theta Pi Gamma, the sorority which I had been wanting to rush for the past semester but had been too shy to rush. Thanks to her, I had confidence to go to this spring's rush events, and was offered a bid, which naturally I accepted.

It was really awesome to have my roommate as an active while I was pledging. All the times that were difficult, all the times where I almost gave up, she gave me that extra push to get through to I-night. And now that I'm a sister, my roommate and I will have an even closer bond. I'm really sad that she can't be my roommate anymore (I'm going to be a resident assistant this fall), but we'll still have our sorority!!!
