The painting in the living room area of the EO is of Martha Foote Crow, our first National President (before we were International) and one of Alpha Phi's founders. Our constitution provides that our badge is to be worn over the heart and apparantly at some points someone had Martha's badge repositioned over her heart so that it complied with how we wear badges today. The several years ago when the picture was cleaned, like SilverTurtle says, the badge was moved back. I love going into Heritage Hall and seeing all of the old Alpha Phi badges prior to the standardized badge.
