I've always gone by the same name . . . there's really nothing you can do with "Heather."

Yeah . . . one of my friends went by his middle name because it was a family tradition to name the first son James, but his parents didn't want to call him James . . . so they gave him that as a first name but always called him by his middle name. People would call him James in some situations and we'd all be confused for a couple seconds before we realized what they were talking about.
