Being afraid to travel to say Vancouver because of a SARS outbreak in TO is ludicrous. I am closer to Mexico than I am to Toronto - if something happens down there, should I pack my bags and leave!!??

Ah, my fellow Vancouverite, so true.
The debate reminds me of when I was in
Melbourne, which is in the state of Victoria in Australia (no bush fires there).
There were raging bush fires in
Sydney, in the state of New South Wales in Australia (a few HOURS away by plane).
I cannot tell you how many emails (when I was in Melbourne) I got from people, "Aren't you worried about the bush fires?"
Um, no...wrong city, wrong state.
Considering how easy it is to come by a map on the Internet, there really is no excuse to be geographically ignorant. I mean....really.
This is Canada....please note its huge size.
Thank you.
