Beyonce Knowles, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu To Perform At 'Essence' Awards

Beyonce Knowles, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and Lionel Richie head the recently announced list of performers for the 16th Annual Essence Awards which will be taped on June 6 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Talib Kweli, New Edition, Common, and the Gap Band are also scheduled to perform.
Actor and comedian Steve Harvey will host the gala which honors the accomplishments of Mary J. Blige, Mos Def, and Tom Joyner. Queen Latifah is also scheduled to receive the Readers' Choice "Entertainer Of The Year" award during the ceremony.
The 16th Annual Essence Awards will air June 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. This year's show will focus on a tribute to the word in its various forms including: music, literature, film and theatre, television, humor, religion, education, and activism.
