Well... unfortunately, I learned today that my contract will not be renewed beyond the end of next week.
There has been a big shake-up in management, and the new guy is trying to get his cronies in place, so... out I go. I'm not the first, and I probably won't be the last.
Fortunately, job prospects look a little better than they did last summer (the last time I was out of work) so I hope to find something soon. Meantime, I think I can go back on unemployment; I'm working on starting up a sideline business doing web design and hosting (anyone need a website?
), and I have a few pet projects to keep me busy.
And on a more short-term note, I'm currently enjoying a large martini
