My cousin was telling me that she went to a Black women's caucus meeting in her area and she brought a couple of Gwendolyn Brooks' poems to read, sort of as a tribute. Can you believe that out of the 20 or so women there, only 2 of them had even heard of Gwendolyn Brooks? I think that's disgraceful.
