songs!

Oh man there are a lot of songs that have just a few words changed...I'll just type the version I know out!

The 'PiPhi Cutie' song we call Arrow Girl
Refrain
Arrow Girl Arrow Girl's what I'm proud to be
Arrow Girl Arrow Girl's what I'm proud to be
Not a Theta, not a Chi, not a KKG
Arrow girl Arrow Girl's what I'm proud to be

Then the verses are the same as how they had them

Then there's BOOM BOOM, which the chorus is the same, but we have a line in between the two choruses:

Don't wanna be a Kappa, don't wanna wear that Key
Theta's and Chi's ain't got it, it's PIPHI for me!
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

The song that pbpck put up looks like what we call the circle song, but we sing it differently and it involves a few tears and lots of swaying.

Instead of:
Remember the Pi Phi Arrow
The wine and silver blue
The loyalty and the friendship
You know they will bring to you
Forget all the Kappa's pleadings,
The gleam of Theta's kite
Come, put on the Pi Phi Arrow
And you'll know you've chosen right!

Remember the Pi Phi arrow
The wine and silver blue
The loyalty and friendship
Know they've brought to you
Be mindful as yuo travel
Your goals set ever high
The gifts our founders gave you
Was love in Pi Beta Phi

We sing:

The DG anchor will be too heavy,
The Theta Kite will fly too high,
The key of Kappa, no lock will open,
but to your heart goes the Arrow of PiPhi.

Remember the PiPhi Arrow,
The Wine and the Silver Blue
Loyalty and friendships ever
Are waiting here for you.
Forsaking the other's pleading,
Their gleaming symbols bright.
If you choose the PiPhi Arrow,
You'll know that you've chosen right.

We have another song called GO! that is an echo, usually the seniors yell the first part and chapter repeats. It's really great for bid day, because the rho-chi's teach the new members how it works right after they pick up their bids, and the chapter starts it when they come out of the building. It's easy because they can just repeat, and we really belt it out!

GO! (go!)
PIPHI! (piphi!)
Go Pi Phi-i! (go pi phi-i!)
PiPhi, PiPhi, let's repeat it! (PiPhi, PiPhi let's repeat it!)
Noooo other house can beat it! (noooooo other house can beat it!)
We are the women of the, wine and silver blue! (we are the women of the, wine and silver blue!)
Love PIPHI and, love the ARROW too! (Love PIPHI and, love the ARROW too!)

We have another 'goodbye' type song that is really pretty, I couldn't explain the tune, though. We sing it in a round in 3 parts, so after the first group sings the first line, the second group starts in the with the first line and so on...

PiPhi wishes you goodnight
with Wine and Blue and arrows bright
With wine and blue and arrows bright.

We usually sing it three or four times through, and it's really pretty.

Another song that is really long but lots of fun is 'I'm a Pi'

I'm a Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi Beta Phi!
I'll be a PiPhi all my life until the day I die.
I'm partial to the Wine and Blue, the arrow pointing high!
I'm a Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi Beta Phi!

Now if I had a son sir, I'll tell you what I'd do,
I'd make him all his rompers out of Wine and Silver Blue
And when he went to college, he'd be a frat boy too (or insert frat name, ie: And when he went to college, he'd be a Beta too or he'd be a Sigma Nu)
he'd learn to love those PiPhi's like his daddy used to do

Refrain

And if I had a daughter, I'll tell you what I'd do,
I'd send her off to college to wear the arrow too.
She'd never pledge another house, or pass those PiPhi's by,
She'd be a Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi Beta Phi!

Refrain

And when we go up yonder, to see that heavenly view
St. Pete will run to greet us, and say 'You'll surely do!
You've sisters galore who've come before, you're always in supply,
You're a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi-a-Pi Beta Phi!'

Haha, that's all I can think of at the moment...what are the tunes to the Linger song and the Champaigne song? I'd love to use them here! In PiPhi, ~T
