TEXAS: We're bigger than France.
Texas Bound Train
by Cory Morrow
Well I waited all night by the railroad tracks
Hoping that train would come soon
I got two more smokes half a bottle of scotch
Lord I ain’t got too much to lose
I toss slop at a local truck stop
In a town just out of Pittsburgh, PA
I make two twenty five but I still ain’t alive
Lord I need a Texas bound train
Take me I want to go
I want to see where that red river flows
Steel wheels burnin’ into the night
Take this cowboy home on a midnight ride
It’s a long trip down them railroad tracks
To Texas I’ve never seen
I’ve heard stories of toil about old men and their oil
And how they lost their riches and dreams
The angels came down in my dreams last night
While outside it was stormin’ rain
There was a rhythm of drops beatin’ on the rooftops
And the angels sang of a train
They sang you gotta find a Texas bound train
Take me I want to go
I want to see where that red river flows
Steel wheels burnin’ into the night
Take this cowboy home on a midnight ride
