If it is what I am thinking about, "W" is a style magazine. Years ago there was a publication called Women's Wear Daily "WWD" that was the "bible" of the fashion industry. It morphed into "W" magazine.

WWD is still around -- a really expensive trade paper that costs more than $100 a year to subscribe. I used to read it when I covered retail.
W is a spinoff publication that's a monthly. It's been around about 30 years.
