Maybe I'm a movie elitist but...

I thought the movie totally blew. Keanu Reeves' complete and total failure (for the 1000th time!) at acting; a poor/confusing plotline that was confusing precisely because it was poorly written; empty, cliche comments that were an attempt to impress audiences; in general, disjunction (perhaps this was a motif but it was overdone; far too many similar and repetitive fight scenes (I did enjoy the freeway one); much overplayed, sappy love between trinity and neo (gee, she saved his life through love last time... I wonder what he'll do when she dies this time; bizarre musical/video montages....

Basically, the philosophy behind it is Plato-lite. Gag me! I don't know. I feel like the movie was so designed to impress people that it was rendered pathetic.

That's just my two cents, though. It isn't really my type of movie in the first place, so don't let that prevent you from seeing it.

Did anyone else not dig it? I mean for reasons other than just the ending?
