As I've mentioned before, this incident has captured my attention because I have a Senior daughter in the same school district.
While I'm fiercely protective of my children, and will go to great lengths to fight for them if I think they've been wronged(assuming they let me), I expect them to behave. When they don't, there are consequences.
Despite the pretty pink (unreturnable) dress hanging on her closet door, my daughter would not be going to prom if I witnessed her behaving on tape the way those girls were. If she'd wiggled out of an expulsion the month before (like Marnie Holz did), she wouldn't be going out to play "football" with her friends in the first place.
These parents are too busy trying to be their kids buddies, not their parents. The parents probably need to deal with self esteem issues as much as their kids do. They want their kids to be in with the in crowd--along the way they fail to provide them with a moral compass.
The alternate prom really makes me angry!
