See, I loved Cats. But I am a dancer so I always just wanted to dance that much 8 times a week! I HATED Les Mis. Fell asleep.
I'm basically a dancer who has done some acting and knows she can carry a tune so should take some voice lessons so I can be a triple threat, but not enough $$ for all the that training! Everytime I go to musical auditions calling for "dancers who sing" it's mostly singers who took 5 years of dance when they were little. So I always make the dance cut and then have to sing and get nervous and sound horrible. I actually had a director say once as I was leaving the room "That's a shame.."
But I have done quite a few dance productions and danced with a small modern comapny here in NY for a year. I'll be sure to let everyone know when I get my big break!
