I agree w/Gyrl7 & AKA2d.
I'm not one for surprises so he would definately know what my ring preference is.
I'm not at all materialistic but the ring is also a reflection of the man & if wants me to represent (as being "his"), then he's gonna have to come correct w/the ring.
I know of a couple who were living in different cities when they became engaged. How bout ole girl wasn't happy w/the ring that she received, so she "traded up" w/o telling her fiance so when he saw her, after the proposal, she had a different ring. He was hurt, but do you know he still married her.
