The scene where Maxine's husband said that when they got married, he bought what he could afford (and they were younger). When they renewed their vows, he bought her something better. This was because they were doing better financially.
I can appreciate that. IF brotha can AFFORD to spend, then WHY NOT?
At this rate whenever I do get married, we BOTH should be doing "better".

So, I guess I'm leaning more towards the size does matter. The same goes for whatever engagement gift I give him. That gift should "be all that".
I guess it boils down to what floats your boat.
