Happy mother's day to all the other mothers! I just have to share what a wonderful mom I have.
Yesterday was her birthday, so I combined trips to see her today. Bless her heart, she invited the family all to her house for dinner (which was really lunch), and told us not to bring anything. She cooked for 2 of my brothers, my sister-in-law, two of my nephews, my dad, me, and my son. Then, she said she was going to clean up after all of us. My sister-in-law and I cleaned up, though.
Anyway, I've had a rough couple of weeks, and my week was made when I got a mother's day card in the mail. My ex mother-in-law sent it and signed my son's name so she knew I'd at least have a card. (Is that thoughtful, or what?)
I don't usually get something for mother's day, but my dad gave my mom a dozen roses. She took my son into another room as we were getting ready to leave, and when he came back...
he walked to the vase, picked it up, handed it to me, and said "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy."
I love my mom!
