My father has diabetes. He has been living with it for 27 years. He takes 2 insulin shots a day and takes his blood sugar 8-10 times a day. He will be getting an insulin pump very soon. It injects you with insulin every 3 minutes. It is very serious. Your doctor will be able to really help you coordinate what you need to do. It is based on individual needs of course. Excersise and diet are very important. Was your mom diagnosed with type I or type II? Will she have to take injections?
