I was talking about this with one of my sisters tonight and she brought up a point that I hadn't thought of. What about the asian/hispanic/indian students that don't fit into the black/white category. Now my sister is asian, and she was adopted by a white family- so where would she fit into the mold?

I was kind of wondering the same thing, but I have never been there, so I don't know if there are many other minorities in that particular area. (I know there are in most places, but some places have more than others geographically)
I somehow haven't forgot over the years a class discussion on segregation in the 7th grade. The teacher was talking about how everyone had seperate water fountains, restrooms, etc. and I asked him where the other minorities would go (asians, hispanics, etc) and he told me they were considered white back then.
I think maybe this varied on geographic place?
