[tnxbutterfly]

It had been a long day for TNXButterfly. Work was even crappier then usual and all she wanted to do was soak in a nice hot and crawl in the bed with a good book.

But RainMan called her while she was at the resturant saying they needed to talk. And while he was the last person she wanted to talk to, she was glad that he was making the first move.

The knocking on her door, broke her train of thought. She looked at her watch. Right on time she thought

RM: (after TNX had let him in) Hi, thanks for meeting me.

TNX: You wanted to talk. So talk

RM: I know there's been a lot of tension between us every since I've been seeing Kelli. And it's seems like the past few days have been worst. Everything I say about Kelli rubs you the wrong way.
(TNX started to respond,but RM stops her) Don't say anthing let me finish. (pauses) At first I was really upset, especially after we got into it the other day. But I went home and realized I was wrong to.

Tnx: (confused) Wrong about what?

RM: Well, I realized that we've nothing but talk about me and Kelli. I forgot that you've been dealing with things at work. I've been so focused on Kelli, I've been neglecting my best friend.

Tnx was stunned. If he wanted to think that she was acting the way she was because she was feeling neglected, then that was fine with her.

Tnx: Hey don't worry about it.

RM: So is everything cool between us. (Tnx nods) Good, I missed you. I hate it when we fight. Besides I really need my best friend to be in my corner tonight.

Tnx: Why? What's happening tonight.

RM: I'm prosposing to Kelli tonight at the ball


TNX tries to fight back the tears that are welling up in her eyes. She is unsuccessful and turns her head before RM can see.

RM: Hey, what's the matter. I thought you'd be happy for me.

TNX: (sniffing) I am happy for you.

RM: Then why........(pauses) Oh, I get it. I know what this is about.

TNX: You do?

RM: Yeah and you don't have to worry. You'll still be my best friend after me and Kelli are married. You'll never have to worry about anyone taking your place as my best friend. We are buds are buds for life. and don't you for get that.

TNX: (weakly) Yeah, you figured me out. That's exactly why I've been acting the way I have because I was afraid of losing my best friend.

RM: (giving her a brotherly hug and peck on the forehead) You never have to worry about losing me as a friend. I'll be there for you no matter what. I'm glad we got everything out in the open. It just would be the same without my best friend beside me on one of the most important nights of my life.

TNX: I'm glad we got every thing out in the open to. (Taking a deep breath) It's getting late. You better get a move on. Big night and all.

RM: (looking at his watch) Wow it is late. (goes to the door) We ok? (Tnx nods) You want to ride with me and Kelli to the ball tonight?

Tnx: No that's ok. I've got somethings to take care of first. Why don't I just meet you there.

RM: Ok. See you later.

After RainMan leaves, TNX sobs uncontrollably. He can't propose to Kelli tonight. He just can't she thinks. What am I going to do. She cries some more as she paces around there apartment. Suddenly she has a thought. She goes to the phone and stops crying just as she picks it up. She dials a number she swore she would never dail. But desparte times calls for desparte measures. And that this point, she would do what ever it takes to stop RainMan from proposing at the ball tonight.

TNX: (after the other person picked up the phone) I need your help
