I also tried a product like Metabolife a couple of months ago, and it did not work for me. I am short and obese, but since I don't look obese, no one takes my dieting seriously. Currently I started taking Xenadrine. So far I have lost 4 pounds in one week. Plus I exercise as much as I can. I also don't drink soda or anything with caffine in it because the pills have ephedra in it and could cause a nervous jitter.
