He sounds like this is "letter number 2" in his bag of tricks. He doesn't directly mention anything that you wrote to him, it's pretty general. He says stuff like :

I can only imagine the complexities you endure trying to find common ground when communicating with friends and associates. It's especially difficult when you must interact with so many different personalities.
Did you tell him that or is he trying to play into something he thinks he knows?
