Nupe4Life...no, it's nothing like that. Actually WE ought to be quite proud of the brother. I heard this on the radio, and several people emailed me from other states saying that they heard it too. Well, they were in Atlantic City, and D'angelo and his bodyguard and like one other person were about to get on the elevator. Brittany Spears and her bodyguard and I think one other person were about to get on too. So Brittany says..."I am sorry this elevator is broken"...So I guess D'angelo turns around as he waits for another elevator, but when he turns back around he sees Brittany and her people getting on that same ""BROKEN"" elevator. He said he knew that it was working because the lights went on that signaled the floors.
So later he sees her in the hotel...and he goes up to her and he says(something to the effect of...and don't quote me)...I just wanted to introduce myself to you. So then she's like "Oh, D'angelo...I love your music, and your new video is awesome" and stuff like that. So he's like don't even try it..I saw you get on the elevator. I've been in this game longer that you've even thought about it, and you tried to play me like I am some common criminal. (I don't know if he said all of this to her...but this is what he said in the interview. But he basically let her know that he knew what she did, and he wanted to make sure that she knew who he was) So then, he goes to her record company, and he demanded a PUBLIC apology, and he got one from both her AND the record company.
Whew...my fingers hurt! Can't type as fast as I can run my mouth!
But anyway, I am glad that he just didn't let it go. You see how some people are, be up on stage saying how much they like this artist and that artist, but let them see them out in the street and not recognize them...you just an average 'bro'.
Nupe...I LOVE Common's new CD! I like TimeTravelin also...that is a CD that I can actually play all the way through without programming to skip over certain songs!
