Wow, I could go on forever about this topic, but I won't...I will try to just get straight to the point. A few years back, almost the entire sorority was divided between two cliques. There were the girls who deemed it necessary to come to every event drunk and there were the girls who really tried and wanted the sorority to be awesome. Let's just say, the first clique made it really impossible to enjoy sorority life...mainly because they were always choosing who the "newest" member of their bunch would be. After a very heated arguement and several attempts to make this bunch of girls act properly and represent Phi Sigma Sigma, the group of girls decided to disaffiliate. I believe that there were 7 of them. At first, the remainder of the chapter was upset that we were losing so many sisters. But after they left, we moved on...and the chapter expanded to the best it has ever been. Although there are groups of people who get along better with each other and hang out more with certain people, my chapter has tried to remain clique-less. Events such as sisterhood and socials really make the difference in how people interact with one another. Of course, nothing is fall-proof...but after all the crap we went through, every sister makes an attempt to be friendly to each other.
(I hope all this makes sense....it is really early in the morning!)
