I didn't think that it was never an active chapter because most of the chapter was not too happy merging Delta Sigma with AOII. I'm sure that it was a little of both (sororities no longer allowed as well as half the group not wanting to join AOII) - you know how Stella can get when writing the history!
Beta is the only chapter that never truly existed as an active collegiate chapter, isn't it?
