Very interesting article. It intrigues me, however, that many professors have the pressure to provide for one's extended family--especially since the traditional reasoning for colleges to waive tuition for faculty children is that they can't usually afford it on a professor's salary. I guess it's the assumption that the more school you have, the more money you make, which sadly, just isn't true.
I guess that I'm very lucky that my parents encouraged me to study whatever I was interested in--which is why I have such a wacky major right now. Not very employable, but passionate about what I'm doing.

Yes, I would be employable as an Business major, but ack! It's just not for me.
