Want to know something interesting?
Does anyone remember how PETA used to encourage its members to dump red paint on peoples' furs as a way of protesting using animal pelts to make coats? Well, the reason they no longer do that is because their actions were actually causing the sale of furs to increase . This is because the people who got their coats painted normally had them insured so they'd report it to their insurance company, which would cut them a check and they'd buy another fur with the money.
I guess not quite the outcome PETA wanted.
