Well, recently I got hooked on M.A.C since I can buy it cheap at work. My white roommate loves her Neutrogena but I had a hard time finding a matching shade and that's rare for my complexion.
I have the same problem you do, and I use M.A.C's "Tinted Moisturizer" which really looks natural for something that evens you out so well. In fact, I had to wipe my face so my co-workers would believe I was wearing make-up. It costs $24 but a little goes a long way.
About the concealer: I got my first tube from the Fashion Fair counter. The beauty consultants usually know what they are doing so it's best to get ask them to help you the first time, especially when you are woman of color. After you find the right shade put a few small dots around the eye and blend in with your finger or a sponge. Then put your foundation on normally.
