Don't be afraid, soror. You can always be like me. Shoot, I contact lawmakers on the local, state and federal level and voice my concerns when stuff like this comes up. The key is making your voice heard. It is your right as a constituent.
Even in a time like this, when we are facing the dark ages of civil rights (the Bush administration has a crystal clear record of hostility towards legislation that protects the rights of minorities AND women), we who are educated (in how the government works) need to hold all of our elected officials accountable, and teach those who aren't educated how to do the same.
